I was the kid who could not gain weight no matter what I tried. I was scrawny, my ribs showed, and I was called "Jack Skeleton" more times than I can count. Taking my shirt off at the beach was embarrassing. Going to the gym was humiliating.
So I did what most people do — I tried everything. I went on a fast food rampage trying to "dirty bulk." I followed random bodybuilder programs from Instagram. I choked down chalky mass gainer shakes that made me nauseous.
And the worst part? I would make some progress, feel good for a few months, and then life would happen. A new job, a busy season, stress — and I would fall off completely. Months of progress, gone. Back to square one. The start-stop cycle was crushing.
The turning point came when I realized the problem was never my effort — it was my approach. I was following rigid, cookie-cutter plans that had no room for real life. The moment something disrupted the plan, the whole thing collapsed.
So I started building something different. A system — not a plan. A system that adapted to my energy, my schedule, and the chaos of real life. I stopped obsessing over the scale. I stopped eating the same boring meals and learned to hit my macros with foods I actually enjoyed. I stopped training six days a week and committed to three to four structured sessions that I could sustain for years.
The results were transformative.
